Sycamore Trail Townhomes taking shape in Matthews, NC

 

Matthews, NC – November 30, 2023 – Under a Carolina Blue sky and joined by a host of local dignitaries, Tony Berry of The Berry Company cut the ribbon on Matthews’ newest townhome community.

Located at 2026 Matthews Mint Hill Road, just over a mile from downtown Matthews, Sycamore Trail will include a total of 62 2- and 3-bedroom townhomes and “duets” with prices starting in the $300s.

“We’re very excited to be able to bring these home ownership opportunities to the people of Matthews,” said Mr. Berry. His company, TBC Land Development, was originally based in Charlotte, NC, before relocating to Mt. Pleasant, SC, in 2021.

“We absolutely love this area and recognize that there is a need in the market that we’re uniquely suited to address,” he continued. “To be able to offer quality homes in this price range, with a location that’s convenient to schools, shopping, recreation and everything Matthews has to offer is really very exciting.”

Matthews Mayor John Higdon and Chamber President Kellen Mooney were among the attendees, each speaking in glowing terms about Tony Berry and his team, the community itself and the positive impact they foresee the community having on the Town of Matthews. They were followed by a check presentation, with TBC Land Development making a $2,500 contribution to Matthews HELP Center, an organization founded in 1979 and dedicated to providing short-term crisis assistance to neighbors in the Greater Matthews community.

Along with market rate homes, Sycamore Trail will also include several homes that are “workforce friendly.” These units will be reserved for buyers who meet specific maximum income restrictions, with special down payment assistance available to help members of the local workforce achieve their dreams of home ownership.

Construction of this sparkling new community is well underway, with initial sales set to begin in late December and an initial target occupancy date of spring 2024. Prices for townhomes start in the $300s, with Duets starting in the low $400s.
